A tech pack is the manufacturing recipe for a plush model. It brings pattern dimensions, fabric and filling specification, Pantone colour references, stitch types and label positions into one document, so the sample workshop, procurement and quality teams all work from the same source.
What the document contains
A well-prepared tech pack includes a dimensioned technical drawing, a bill of materials, colour references, embroidery and print files, the choice between safety eyes and embroidered eyes, and the placement of the woven label, hangtag and care label. It also states the target market and age group, so the test plan can be set from the start.
Fewer revision rounds
Most sample revisions come from an expectation that was never written down. When dimensional tolerance, filling firmness and facial expression are defined at the outset, the first sample lands much closer to approval and the two revision rounds included in the process go into fine-tuning.
A reference that carries into mass production
Together with the approved PPS, the tech pack becomes the reference every piece in mass production is checked against. In-line and final inspection work to the dimension and appearance criteria in this document, so the product that reaches the shelf matches the sample you approved.
